Weight Loss Journeys

Updated: Apr 1, 2021

Losing weight can be a struggle for women and men not only physically, but also mentally.  I think sometimes we put too much pressure on ourselves to fit in and/or do the right thing, but for the wrong reasons. When it comes to weight loss you have to be ready and willing to take action. You want to lose weight for yourself, not just because you should lose weight. There will never be a good day to start or a right time to start; you just have to go for it.  No one can force you into losing weight because then it will not work mentally for you.

So if there is no right time to start the process of weight loss then when should you commit? Losing weight can be difficult, but at the same time it can be easy. Having someone to be your personal nutritionist and work one on one with you weekly is definitely a start.  A large part of weight loss is the accountability.  Sure you might know what to do when it comes to weight loss, but you don’t have the motivation to do it on your own.  You have no one to keep you accountable when you try and do it on your own. And that might work for some people, but I find it to be rather difficult. Let me be your cheerleader as well as your nutritionist during your weight loss journey.  I want to keep you accountable and motivated while you lose weight and see results.

Weight loss can also seem so simple right, just cut out the carbs. I wish it were that easy. There are many kinds of carbs, and sure you can eliminate all carbs, but that would be difficult and miserable for anyone trying to lose weight. It also won't teach you anything. Learn which carbs to eliminate and which carbs to keep in your diet.  Same goes for fats, learn the healthy fats that are high in calories, but also good for you, and continue to eat those fats.  I personally like teaching everyone which foods have hidden sugars because those hidden sugars can affect weight loss.

Weight loss has many factors such as the food you are eating and/or not eating, the schedule of your meals, and your exercise. These three factors in combination will help you lose weight, not just one of them. Losing weight is like taking a course in school, you’ll educate yourself on nutrition and what foods affect your body along with many other things. There is so much information out there that I want to share with you!

Losing weight is a process; it’s a journey, and one that no one should have to go on alone.  Don’t think of it as dieting because then it seems like it is something you are doing for a short period of time. You want to learn how to eat healthy and create healthy eating habits for the long term. In return, you will lose the weight and keep it off.
